Community and Sustainability

The Department of Art History is currently engaged in a sustainability initiative on the grounds of Brodie Hall.

• One goal of the initiative is to preserve and protect existing trees, shrubs and plants on the grounds of Brodie, which has a rare species of peony and white cedra.
• Another goal is to plant native and sustainable species and extirpate invasives from the grounds of Brodie.
• Under consideration is building a mini-Letchworth Park plants area of native species for use as a bio-study.

Internship opportunities exist for students to contribute to these projects.

The initiative is being enacted in cooperation with Kerry Pickering, Head Grounds Supervisor, SUNY Geneseo.
