I didn't enter Geneseo intending to major in Sociology (I went in as a Biology major), but after taking a couple of Sociology classes, I was hooked. I ended up with minors in Psychology and Criminal Justice as well. I really enjoyed learning about people and what makes them tick. After graduation, I moved to Southern California and I got a Paralegal Certificate. I worked as a Family Law Paralegal at a few different law firms and, about a decade ago, I started my own business as a Legal Document Assistant. An LDA is like a paralegal, but I assist people who are representing themselves in their legal matters, mostly divorces and other family law matters. I think my Sociology studies directly impacted my interest in Family Law.
