I’m an assistant professor of Sociology at North Carolina State University. After graduating from Geneseo with my BA in history and sociology in 2012, I got my MA in sociology from the University at Albany in 2014 and my PhD from the Ohio State University in 2020. My sociology classes at Geneseo were so exciting and engaging that they made me want to keep learning more about sociology and how to do research. Now that I teach my own classes in sociology, I think back to the great teachers I had at Geneseo and try to inspire my students to get excited about my courses as well. I get to research mass incarceration and its effects on inequality, topics I first learned about at Geneseo.
