Exploratory Living-Learning Communities
Exploratory LLCs offer students an opportunity for relationship building around an area of interest. Students choose 2-3 events each semester to deepen their knowledge, skills, or practice with their interest.

Quick Facts
- All returning students to Exploratory LLCs must apply for a Peer Leadership position in order to be considered
- All first-time LLC students are required to participate in 2-3 opportunities each semester
- Each Exploratory LLC offers unique and specialized resources for the LLC residents (see below for details in each community)
- Arts & Wellness Community

- Students explore the 8 dimensions of personal wellbeing through visual, performing, and musical arts
- Renovated lounge spaces offer a painting studio, paper craft room, and wellness-focused study areas
- Part of our "linked living-learning community" building, which allows cross-programming and access to unique facilities in the Gaming, STEM, and Kuumba House LLCs
- Open to students of all years and all majors
- Active peer leaders run events, connect residents to campus and community resources, and much more!
- Food Culture House

- Devoted to food, food cultures, and food security around the world
- Residents have access to an upgraded kitchen and pantry stable items (spices, etc)
- Programming with the Cornell Cooperative Extension, Food Security Advocates, Campus Auxiliary Services, and eGarden are common
- Open to students of all years and all majors
- Active peer leaders run events, connect residents to campus and community resources and much more!

- For students interested in building community, wellbeing, and entrepreneurial skills around video gaming and eSports
- Renovated lounge spaces to allow students to build community and practice skills in gaming, graphic design, and technology
- Part of our "linked living-learning community" building, which allows cross-programming and access to unique facilities in the Arts & Wellness, STEM, and Kuumba House LLCs
- Global House

- For students interested in exploring the role of diverse cultures in and out of the United States
- Active peer leaders run events, connect residents to campus and community resources (like Study Abroad and Study Away, Volunteer and Service), and host cultural celebrations throughout the year
- Cultural Dinners, field trips, and engagement with faculty and staff from all around the world contribute to broadening perspectives
- STEM (science, technology, engineering, mathematics) LLC

- Formerly Medical Interest Group LLC, the new STEM LLC looks to connect more students in STEM fields to support collaboration, wellbeing, and equity in STEM
- Lounges provide wellbeing-focused study spaces, encouraging healthy habits in these demanding fields
- Specific attention in providing resources for underrepresented groups in STEM majors
- In-hall tutors host hours in the lounges

- Writers House

- For students interested in all types of creative and academic writing including literary writing, science writing, song writing, poetry, music, film, plays, short stories, and the teaching of writing.
- For all majors and years
- Active peer leaders provide mentorship, run events, connect residents to campus and community resources including visiting writers, lectures, publishing opportunities, etc.
- Writing Tutors, trained by the Writing Learning Center, hold hours in Seneca Hall
- A library and conference room are used for book clubs, movie screenings, and other social events
