Weeks of Welcome

Weeks of Welcome (WOW) is the official start of a new semester. It's a transitional time when new students get to know the campus and prepare for their academic endeavors.

The Department of Student Life organizes an exciting slate of events during this time, which includes many different way to get involved with student organizations, celebrate school spirit by cheering on our athletic teams, and connect to the campus community.

Saturday, January 28th
  • 6:30 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. | Hockey & Hot Cocoa | Merritt: Join our student Orientation Leaders for some hot cocoa before watching the Ice Knight's first game of the semester!
Tuesday, January 21st
  • 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. | Be True to the Blue | MacVittie College Union (MCU) Lobby: Happy First Day of Classes! Stop by the MCU Lobby for all things blue: food, stickers, stuff-a-plushes, giveaways, challenges, and a corn-hole tournament!
Wednesday, January 22nd
  • 1:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. | Waffles Wednesday | MacVittie College Union (MCU) Lobby: You loved it so much last year, so we brought it back! Stop by for brunch and grab a warm waffle with toppings of your choice.
Thursday, January 23rd
  • 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. | Club Expo | MacVittie College Union (MCU) Ballroom: Your one stop shop for all things student activities! Find and join a new club, or 12!
Friday, January 24th
  • 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. | Donut Stress! | MacVittie College Union (MCU) Lobby: Congrats on getting through the first week of classes! Keep those stress levels low and celebrate by grabbing a donut from our donut wall!

 

  • 5:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. | Info and Hot Cocoa: Geneseo Running Club (G.R.C.) Info Meeting | Ira S. Wilson Ice Arena: Join Geneseo's Running Club for a warm-up on the indoor track above the Hockey Arena (with hot cocoa!) and learn more about G.R.C.! Discover who they are, what they do, and what's in store for Spring 2025! Stick around after the meeting for their first team run of the semester at a comfortable pace! All skill levels are welcome!

 

  • 7:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. | Paint n' Sip with GLK | College Union Programming Space (CUPS): Join GLK for their first event of the spring semester! Enjoy some mocktails while pouring your creativity into a canvas!
Saturday, January 25th
  • 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. | Super Saturday Tailgate | Merritt Circle: Here we go Ice Knights, here we go! Join Student Life for a tailgate before Saturday's hockey game, featuring hot cocoa and sweet treats, a free beanie, raffles for an Ice Knights jersey, and two food trucks!
