After a competitive national search, SUNY Geneseo has named Clifton Harcum as its new director of multicultural affairs, beginning June 22.
After a nationwide search, SUNY Geneseo has appointed Lerong He (pronounced "her"), PhD, as the next dean of the School of Business, effective July 6. Dean He comes to Geneseo after 15 years at SUNY Brockport, where she has been a professor of management, chair of the Department of Business Administration (2014–19), and associate dean (2019–present).
On Saturday, May 20, SUNY Geneseo held its 157th Commencement, conferring nearly a thousand degrees before a capacity audience of family, friends, faculty, and staff.
State University of New York Chancellor John B. King Jr. gave the commencement keynote, and President Denise A. Battles addressed the graduates as well. “I see before me tomorrow’s change makers and leaders, highly capable individuals who feel an obligation to give back and make the world a better place,” she said. “You have the talent, drive, and perseverance to succeed. I have no doubt you will do great things.”

Samson McKinley ’23 from Ithaca, NY, has won an extremely competitive Saint Andrew’s Society of the State of New York Scholarship for graduate study in Scotland. McKinley is an international relations major graduating summa cum laude with a concentration in Asian studies. He has already been accepted to the University of St Andrews for a MLitt graduate degree in peacebuilding and mediation.
