SUNY Geneseo is a distinguished Public Honors College dedicated to preparing students for a wide range of post-graduate programs, including professional allied health program and medical and dental schools. As a highly selective public institution, Geneseo students are highly sought after by many prestigious post-graduate institutions nationwide. For those with a GPA of 3.7 and an MCAT score of 511 or higher (national averages for medical school acceptance), Geneseo boasts a 92% acceptance rate to medical schools.

While many Pre-Med/Pre-Health students at Geneseo choose to major in Biology, it is not a requirement. Students are encouraged to pursue majors that align with their interests. Common majors for Pre-Med/Pre-Health students include Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Psychology, Neuroscience, Sociomedical Sciences, and Sociology. Completing the prerequisite courses for professional schools provides students with a strong science-based foundation, preparing them for further education and professional careers.
