A

Office of Academic Advising

The Office of Academic Advising is located in building #7 (Erwin) on our campus map. This office assists students, faculty, and prospective students in navigating Geneseo’s curriculum. Advisors also assist students who have struggled academically to help students stay on track. Each student is assigned an academic advisor at the beginning of their Geneseo academic career.

Academic Calendar

The SUNY Geneseo academic calendar outlines the schedule of classes and academic deadlines, as well as breaks and holidays during the academic year.

Academic Champions

Academic Champions support students who are in poor academic standing after their first semester on campus or those who are in and out of good standing. These faculty and staff members work with students with the goal of understanding the student’s unique experience and to help them develop an academic plan to improve and succeed.

Academic Coaches

Academic Coaches help students identify and create action plans to address and change behaviors that are harming a student’s academic performance. Academic Coaches meet on a regular basis varying on each student’s need and usually advise students throughout one semester.

Academic Peer Mentors (APMs)

Academic Peer Mentors (APMs) are upper-level students who have demonstrated an ability to learn, grow, and succeed in areas relating to academic and collegiate success. From study strategies to utilizing Degree Works, APMs has received training in these areas and draw on their own experiences to help their peers navigate Geneseo.

Access Opportunity Programs (AOP)

AOP is located in building #6 on our campus map. Access Opportunity Programs at SUNY Geneseo works in conjunction with Admissions to provide enriching academic experiences and support to students apart of its programs. AOP encompasses services such as EOP, the McNair Scholars Program, TRiO Student Support Services, and the Summer Scholars Program.

Office of Accessibility Services (OAS)

The Office of Accessibility Services (OAS) coordinates reasonable accommodations and auxiliary aids and services designed to ensure full participation and equal access for students with disabilities. It is the goal of the OAS to facilitate an accessible and inclusive campus environment. Accommodate is an online system for managing student accommodation requests, appointments, Test Center bookings, and more!

Area Coordinators (ACs)+

Area Coordinators oversee two to three residence halls and supervise the Resident Assistants (RAs) in each building. These leaders educate, inform, and foster connections within each residence hall while maintaining a sense of community and fulfilling the missions of Residence Life at Geneseo. ACs have posted office hours for their residents to visit with any questions or concerns they may have.

Brightspace

Our campus course management system, where you will receive course syllabi, class announcements, and emails from your professor. You can access Brightspace from themenu on any Geneseo page, using your email address and password to log in.


C

Campus Auxiliary Services (CAS)

While mostly known for their dining program, CAS provides catering, the campus bookstore, laundry, vending, ID services, refuse, recycling, and a host of other services!

Career Design Center

The Career Design Center is located in building #7 (Erwin) on our campus map. This office offers students support with choosing a major, exploratory experiences, internship/job opportunities, and graduate school paths.  Skill development such as resume writing, interview skills, and related workshops are also available.  The Career Design Center is staffed by professional coaches, as well as Career Peer Mentors.  

Center for Community (C4C)

Otherwise known as the Center for Community, C4C encompasses the Dean of Students, Student Conduct and Community Standards, Leadership and Service, Fraternal Life, Off Campus Living, Student Volunteerism and Community Engagement, and Student Employment Service. The C4C is located in building #14 (MacVittie College Union) on our campus map.

College Union (CU) Managers

The College Union Managers are responsible for supervising the MacVittie College Union during its open hours. CU Managers also aid in student employee orientation, Student Life programs, and general building operations. If you need a manager, stop by the Student Life office in MCU 321!

Computing and Information Technology (CIT)

CIT offers many facets of technology support to students and staff. They have self-help New Student tutorials for the many applications and technologies that students are required to use. There is a help desk in the Fraser Library (building #12 on our campus map) as well as CIT Help Desk available chat and phone support. CIT supports Required Software for students and  manages Printing Services.

Dean of Students (DOS)

The Office of the Dean of Students is located in building #14 (MacVittie College Union) on our campus map. The Dean of Students and additional staff in this office work directly with students to assist them in adjusting to college life and in resolving problems and conflicts that may arise during their undergraduate career. In addition, the staff works with students to interpret College policies and decisions, mediate conflicts, investigate complaints, and assure full access to all opportunities offered by the College. 

DegreeWorks

DegreeWorks is a web-based tool used to monitor your academic progress toward degree completion. DegreeWorks reorganizes your coursework into categories, easily identifying courses you have completed and what courses you still need to fulfill your degree requirements. You can access DegreeWorks through KnightWeb.

Duplicating Center

The Duplicating Center is located in the basement of Welles Hall, which is building #9 on our campus map. This resource provides the campus community with high quality, low cost printing services for departments, organizations, and events! See their website for information on how to submit a printing job.

Office of Financial Aid

The Office of Financial Aid assists students with navigating federal and state financial aid, loan management, budgeting, and eligibility for aid throughout their college career. The Financial Aid office is located in building #7 (Erwin) on our campus map.

Fraser Hall Library

Fraser Hall Library is the primary campus library until the completion of the Milne Library renovation. This space allows students access to study space, printers books and information, a CIT help desk and support for scholarship. This library is located in Fraser Hall, which is building #12 on our campus map.

Office of Fraternal Life

The Office of Fraternal Life promotes and supports an educationally purposeful fraternal life program consistent with the mission and goals of the College. There are currently 27 recognized fraternal organizations on our campus. The Fraternal Life office is located in building #14 (MacVittie College Union) on our campus map.

Geneseo Campus Activities Board (GCAB)

GCAB is a sub-committee of the Student Association that organizes campus-wide, SA funded programming for all students. GCAB books anything from concerts, to movies, to art shows, to classical performances.

Geneseo First Response (GFR)

GFR is a student-run, volunteer-based organization that provides emergency medical services to the Geneseo campus community. They are the primary EMS agency for our campus.

Geneseo Late Knight (GLK)

Looking for something to do on Friday or Saturday (k)night? Check out the events GLK has to offer! Free giveaways and exciting opportunities await! GLK is apart of Student Life, whose offices are located in building #14 (MacVittie College Union) on our campus map.

Geneseo Opportunities for Leadership Development (GOLD)

The Geneseo Opportunities for Leadership Development (GOLD) program offers unique workshops to help students develop the personal skills and knowledge necessary for future success in both life and career, as well as help students to make connections and get involved in campus life. GOLD workshops are open to all students regardless of major or membership in academic programs. This office and Peer GOLD Leader Mentors are located in building #14 (MacVittie College Union) on our campus map.

Geneseo Points of Support (GPS) Guides

GPS Guides work within Academic Advising to help students with questions about navigating various facets of their college experience. GPS Guides are volunteer employees located all over campus, with the goal of breaking down barriers for students accessing different resources they may need. Keep an eye out for signs around campus and pop in to get help with questions about campus services, where to go, or how to do something!

Graduation Records Office

The Graduation Records Office handles all things related to graduation! Students collaborate with this office to submit a graduation application to walk in Commencement, to register for a Commencement ceremony, and to coordinate receiving their degree and final transcript after degrees have been conferred.

Intercollegiate Athletics and Recreation

Home to our athletics department and our Division III athletic men and women’s teams!

International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS)

ISSS supports international students through their entire career at Geneseo, from admissions, to new student orientation, to advising through graduation. ISSS is located in building #7 (Erwin) on our campus map.

Inter-Residence Council (IRC)

The IRC works with each residence hall council and assists with programming throughout Residential Life.

KnightWeb

KnightWeb is a self-service information system that provides students and faculty with access to registration, courses, final grades, unofficial transcripts, financial aid, student bills, personal information, campus mailbox/combination, and more.


L

Lauderdale Health Services (Student Health and Counseling)

Often referred to simply as Lauderdale, this campus resource provides student health and counseling services for students. Lauderdale is located on North Side of campus in building #21 on our campus map.

LGBTQ+ Life

LGBTQ+ Resources on campus can be accessed at the LGBTQ+ Life office in College Union 348, in addition to the LGBTQ+ Lounge located on the third floor of the Union. These resources are located in building #14 (MacVittie College Union) on our campus map.

Living Learning Communities (LLCs)

An LLC is a specific type of housing option for students who are interested in living with and making connections with students that share similar identities or shared interests. Geneseo offers a total of 7 Academic-Related LLCs, 5 Shared-Interest LLCs, and 8 Identity-Based LLCs.


M

Math Learning Center (MLC)

The MLC is located in building #13 (South Hall 332) on our campus map. The MLC offers tutoring for 100- and 200-level mathematics courses FOR FREE. Students in these classes may drop in to meet with a tutor during any open hour.

Office of Multicultural Affairs

The Office of Multicultural Affairs is located in the Multicultural Center, which is in building #6 (Blake Hall) on our campus map. This office exists to support the college’s core value of diversity. This office works toward creating a welcoming/inclusive campus community for students from diverse backgrounds by working with faculty, staff and students to develop programs and resources that will support academic and non-academic success. Sponsored programs promote diversity awareness and an inclusive, respectful campus community.  

MyGeneseo

MyGeneseo is your one-stop shop for student involvement on campus. You can access this system from the  menu on any Geneseo page, using your Geneseo email address and password to log in.

Navigate 

Navigate is an early alert communication tool that supports student success. This system allows instructors to raise concerns, offer praise, or refer students to student support resources. You can access Navigate Student from the menu on any Geneseo page, using your Geneseo email address and password to log in.


O

Orientation Leaders (OLs)

OLs are current students who assist new students in their transition to Geneseo and help them navigate the Orientation experience and their first semester.

Office of Diversity and Equity (ODE)

The Office of Diversity and Equity offers a variety of services: Title IX, Multicultural Programs & Services, Hillel, LGBTQ Programs and Services and the Chief Diversity Officer. ODE is located in building #10 (Doty) on our campus map.

Off Campus Services

Geneseo’s Off Campus Services serve as a college liaison with community groups, the mayor’s office, the police department, the code enforcement officer, services groups, landlords, retailers, local business groups, and College neighbors. They also develop educational programs and resources for students living or considering moving off campus, which can be utilized through GOLD!

Parking & Transportation Services

This campus department manages parking and transportation related needs to promote a safe campus environment for its community and its visitors. 

PHAROS Printing

PHAROS is the printing management system that is used throughout Geneseo’s campus and is overseen by CIT. Simply tap your Geneseo ID card on the sensor to view submitted jobs to print! 

Office of the Provost

The provost, i.e. the vice president for academic affairs, is the chief academic officer. This office is responsible for leading the development and implementation of SUNY Geneseo’s academic vision. 


R

Office of the Registrar

The Office of the Registrar is located in building #7 (Erwin) on our campus map. This office coordinates course registration (including issuing time tickets to register for classes), manages all academic records, transcripts, and your DegreeWorks. 

Resident Assistants (RAs)

RAs are student leaders that work in residence halls. RAs assist students through personal contact, referral to appropriate campus services, and providing co-curricular engagement to encourage community development.

Residence Directors (RDs)

An RD is a professional staff member that oversees the students and Resident Assistants (RAs) in a residence hall. RDs supervise RAs and provide student support to all residents through personal contact, referral to appropriate campus services, and co-curricular engagement. RDs live in the residence hall that they oversee. RDs have posted office hours for their residents to visit with any questions or concerns they may have.

Department of Residence Life

Residence Life administers and manages the College’s residential housing program and offers students various choices for living on campus. Residence Life employs RAs, SRAs, RDs, and Area Coordinators to manage each residence hall and to enhance the student resident experience. 


S

Scheduling, Events, and Conference Services

The Office of Scheduling, Events, and Conference Services is the one stop shop for all on-campus events. This office helps students, faculty, and staff with planning events within a given budget and connecting with services necessary to execute an event. This office oversees Virtual EMS, an online booking system that allows members of the Geneseo community to browse rooms that are currently available for use and schedule smaller-scale events.

Office of Student Accounts (Bursars)

The Student Accounts Office is located in building #7 (Erwin) on our campus map. The Student Accounts Office is responsible for billing and collection of tuition, fees, room and board, and other miscellaneous charges.  The office manages the monthly payment plan, processes payments, disburses financial aid to student's accounts, processes refunds from over-payments, and performs other miscellaneous financial functions.  The Student Account Center is Geneseo’s online billing & payment system.

Student Association (SA)

The Student Association (SA) is the Undergraduate Student Government that is serviced to explore the various options that this university has to offer and enhance the undergraduate student experience. It gives you ways to develop as a student, learn to balance your university life, and discover the connections and experiences you’ve been waiting for.

Student Conduct and Community Standards

This office presides over the College’s conduct system. The College’s conduct process helps students make the wisest possible use of the freedom they have at SUNY Geneseo and aids them in personal growth and assuming responsibility from any breaches of the student code of conduct. Student Conduct is located in building #14 (MacVittie College Union) on our campus map.

Department of Student Life

The Department of Student Life manages the MacVittie College Union and oversees new student orientation, student clubs/organizations, and GLK. They coordinate activities and events to support the social-emotional well-being of students, encourage personal growth and connection to the campus community. Student Life is located in building #14 (MacVittie College Union) on our campus map.

Student Volunteerism and Community Engagement

The Office of Student Volunteerism and Community Engagement provides students with opportunities for student learning and development through civic and community programming and engagement, across campus and across the community. This department is located in building #14 (MacVittie College Union) on our campus map.

Study Abroad

The Study Abroad office helps students who are pursuing short-term, semester-, or year-long study abroad program opportunities. This department aids students in finding programs, supports them through the application process, provides pre-departure orientation and advice, and offers assistance while overseas and post-return support. Study Abroad is located in building #7 (Erwin) on our campus map.

Title IX Office

The Title IX Office is located in building #10 (Doty) on our campus map. The Title IX Office is here to respond to any incident of gender discrimination, including sexual harassment, sexual assault, domestic and dating violence, stalking and sexual exploitation. 


U

University Police Department (UPD)

UPD partners with all campus offices, the town of Geneseo community, and local law enforcement agencies to provide a safe and secure learning and living environment by promoting responsible citizenship.


W

Web Banner

The system houses all of your student records. You can log into Banner to accept financial aid, register for classes, view final grades, pay your bill, and more. You can access Web Banner from the menu on any Geneseo page, using your Geneseo email address and password to log in.

Webmail

Geneseo provides you with an email address and uses Gmail to provide email to students. You can access Webmail from the menu on any Geneseo page.

WLC (Writing Learning Center)

The WLC is located in building #12 (Fraser) on our campus map. WLC writing tutor services are FREE and available to all students. Whether you're new to college-level writing or an excellent writer, it's important to have a second pair of eyes on something you've written.
