A day in the Life of an ROTC Cadet

ROTC Cadets start their day with one hour of physical readiness training (PRT), Cadets are required to attend PRT on Monday and Wednesday with an optional PRT session being held on Tuesday. Following PRT Cadets attend either their degree-related classes or their military science class (MS) which occur on Monday and Wednesday, and last for 50 minutes. The MS class is offered one of three ways, via zoom, in person on the SUNY Geneseo campus, or in person at RIT (this option is only for senior Cadets).

Additionally, many Cadets work out on their own time after PRT, going on runs, lifting at the Geneseo Workout Center, or doing calisthenic workouts.

On Fridays, Cadets attend hands-on training, practicing tactics, tactical combat casualty care (TCCC), patrolling, and many other skills necessary to succeed in the Army. Friday lab is two hours and conducted at the RIT campus, rides are coordinated to help cadets who don't have a car. Cadets are issued all of the necessary uniforms and equipment to succeed in accomplishing these tasks.
