Geneseo's FDIC Challenge team has moved on to the final round of the first annual FDIC Academic Challenge. The team consists of Kiersten Colvin, Iam Merrihew, Oliver Stordahl, and Tyee MacDonnell-Miller, advised by Lee Stone and Matthew Winters. In the first round of the competition, the team had to submit a paper on the effects of community banking on local economic development. In the second round, which will take place on April 16th, the team will present their finding and answer questions from a panel of judges who work in the areas of banking and bank supervision. The team was also assisted by Tom Kishlar at Tompkins Bank of Castile, who was very helpful. We invite any alums with community and/or bank supervision experience to help the team prepare in the coming months!
