Rejuvenation Days 2020-21

Rejuvenation days are planned for March 2nd, March 24th, and April 22nd and are meant to be days in which the collective campus community--students, faculty, and staff--can unplug, take a break, and recharge.

We hope these rejuvenation days are an opportunity for everyone in our collective campus community to break the routine of a typical semester day for a well-deserved break. Engage in social justice at the Diversity Summit, savor a favorite food, spend less time in front of the computer, dance to a new playlist, get some extra sleep, take a walk outside, set boundaries with email, declare a meeting-free day, volunteer, take a nap, and/or prioritize fun. Please take time for your wellness.

Health and Well Being

Beth Cholette's guided meditation on Universal Connection
"Mindful Multiple Choice - Self-Care Strategies for Faculty" 11 am-12 pm Zoom link
This program will focus on finding ways to be mindful in the midst of a pandemic. Beth will teach simple strategies that can be incorporated into daily life. There will be short practices throughout the program plus an optional longer (approximately 10 minute) guided visualization at the end.

"Where's My Oxygen Mask? Sneaky Self-Care Strategies for Students" 2-3 pm GOLD workshop for students Register for the GOLD Workshop to get the link. Self-care is sometimes seen as a selfish act - but actually, like putting on your oxygen mask first on an airplane, it can give you more energy, allowing you to do more for yourself and others. This workshop will focus on creating greater mindful awareness and mindful relaxation via "sneaky" self-care strategies, or simple practices that you can choose to work into your everyday life. The final 10-15 minutes of this program will be an optional body scan visualization practice.

Celebrate Banana Cream Pie Day with CAS!

Letchworth and Red Jacket will be serving Banana Cream Pies for dinner

Mary Jemison will be featuring a Banana Cream Smoothie for the day

Hope this will brighten everyone's day!

Cards for Quarantined Students

There are currently over 70 students in quarantine or isolation due to COVID-19. Spend a few moments to share your thoughts of support and solidarity with your fellow students by making a card and wiring your personal message. You can pick up materials (card stock and markers) in the Center for Community, 353 College Union, or use your own supplies to make cards. Once completed please bring your cards back to the Center for Community on or before Monday, March 29 and we will deliver them throughout the week. Be creative and have fun! Please direct any questions to Garth Freeman, Dir. of Student Volunteerism and Community Engagement: freemang@geneseo.edu / 585-245-5893.

Take some time today to refresh your living and working space. You'll feel better when you get back to work tomorrow.

Donations and thrift stores demonstrate your commitment and the campus's to environmental, economic, and social sustainability.
