SUNY Geneseo has appointed Lisa Wilder, PhD, as the associate dean in the School of Business, effective February 27. Wilder comes to Geneseo from Albright College in Reading, PA, where she served most recently as the inaugural dean to lead online programs in its School of Business and Professional Studies.
During her 24 years at Albright College, Wilder also served as department chair and interim dean. An award-winning educator, she was responsible for successfully updating and designing Albright’s in-person and online undergraduate and graduate programs.
“I am thrilled to welcome Lisa Wilder as the School of Business’s next associate dean,” says Lerong He, PhD, dean of the School of Business. “She is an exceptionally well-qualified administrator with a deep understanding of higher education institutions’ challenges and, importantly, solutions to tackle these challenges. She has proven to be a student-centered leader with a strong commitment to educational accessibility and academic excellence. I look forward to collaborating with Dr. Wilder to create more opportunities and provide even more outstanding education to current and future Geneseo students.”
“I am happy to have the opportunity to contribute to the academic leadership of the School of Business and to continue building upon the rich history of exceptional undergraduate education at SUNY Geneseo,” says Wilder. “My experience teaching at a liberal arts college, mentoring student research and study abroad, and developing new programs has deepened my passion for high-impact practices. I find great fulfillment in supporting faculty, staff, and students, and I am excited to collaborate with Dean He and the entire faculty and staff of the School of Business to address the challenges facing higher education and explore and support new opportunities.”
Wilder earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration from Shippensburg University and her master’s and doctoral degrees in economics from Virginia Tech. She will succeed Delbert Brown, interim assistant dean and director of student services and recruitment, and Shuo Chen, PhD, associate dean and associate professor in the School of Business.
