Internal Communications at SUNY Geneseo

Below is a quick reference guide to internal communications. It is not comprehensive but provides the highlights.

The full list of listservs and details about how each list is to be used, as well as who the moderators are for each list, are available on the CIT wiki.

How to Communicate with Faculty and Staff

Today at Geneseo – for messages that are intended for faculty and staff. Sent daily unless there are no submissions. Events are not accepted. View the submission guidelines and form.

Upcoming Events for Faculty and Staff – faculty and staff events newsletter that's automatically generated from the online events calendar (shows all events marked for faculty and staff). Sent every Monday and Wednesday morning during the semester. In-person events with a room reservation are added to the calendar automatically, but you must fill out the event information form to make sure your listing in the calendar and newsletter includes a description, photo, and audience info. If you're holding an event in a location that doesn't need to be reserved or if your event is online-only, please submit the event directly to the calendar. Answers to questions about the events calendar can be found on the calendar help page.

Listservs – full list of available lists, moderators and definitions of the types of information that can be sent can be found on the CIT wiki. Please note that allstaff-L is only used for Cabinet-level communications, crisis/issues communication, and required/compliance related human resources information. It is not used to promote events.
