Recruiting and Internships

Many actuaries start out by getting an internship first. Applications are due starting in autumn for the following summer and are highly competitive. Companies expect interns to have at least one exam but you should consider applying if you have strong academics or other technical skills. 

Consider using Monster, Indeed, Glassdoor, and LinkedIn to search for Actuarial Internships or Actuarial Student positions. An actuarial student is anyone taking exams that has not yet achieved associateship.

ASNY Career Fair

Every fall, ASNY (The Actuarial Society of New York) holds an Annual Career Day in New York City. This is an excellent opportunity to learn about the actuarial profession, apply for internships and full time positions, and learn about the different companies that hire actuaries.
