MATH 390 Third Writing Assignment (Due Monday, April 19)

Read the two articles #72 and #78 in Calinger. These are papers by Leibniz and Newton respectively. In an essay of about one page describe the general contents of the two papers, giving an example or two of the results (in modern form) contained in the papers. Describe how the approaches of Newton and Leibniz to the problems they are working on differ. These are not easy papers to read but there is very familiar material in each one.
