  • Comparisons have any type as input and output logical
    • <, >, <=, >=, ==, ~=
    • e.g., x <= 9 is true if x ≤ 9, false otherwise
  • And: &&, &
  • Or: ||, |
  • Not: ~
  • You can assign logical values to variables, just like any other value
    • x = a < b || a > 3
  • Beware that logical values print as numbers (0 for false, 1 for true), and numbers are interpreted as logical
    

    >> if 1
    fprintf( 'true\n' )
    else
    fprintf( 'False\n' );
    end
    true
    >> if 17
    fprintf( 'True\n' );
    else
    fprintf( 'False\n' );
    end
    True
