Representative Grade Distribution

Math 223 01
Spring 2020
Prof. Doug Baldwin

This is how numeric grades translated to letter grades when I recently taught this course, and how many of each letter grade I gave. While this semester almost certainly won’t produce exactly the same distribution, it’s likely to be similar, so this is probably a reasonable estimator for predicting your own grade if you want to. I also encourage you to talk to me directly any time you want a sense of how you’re doing in the course and what your grade is likely to be.

Numeric Range Letter Grade Count
0% - 20% E 0
20% - 45% D 2
45% - 50% C- 0
50% - 59% C 2
59% - 67% B- 3
67% - 74% B 6
74% - 80% B+ 5
80% - 83% A- 2
83% - 100% A 2
