Installing Matlab

A few strange problems cropped up for multiple people

• Mac users who get to an “Installation Directory” screen and then see an error message about overwriting the installation directory may be able to fix the problem by downloading Matlab from software.geneseo.edu again and restarting the installation with the new copy (throw away the old one).
• Mac users need to be running Mac OS X version 10.7 or later. A few people are still running 10.6 and get told by the Matlab installer that it can’t run on their computer.

The college computers in South 341 do have Matlab installed on them, but it’s older than what you can get from software.geneseo.edu, and (in my opinion) less convenient to work with than a copy on your own computer. But in an emergency you can use the lab computers instead of yours.
