Network Analyst

SUNY Geneseo invites applications for a Network Analyst to join the Network & Information Security Operations group in the Department of Computing & Information Technology. The network analyst supports and maintains the Cisco Telephony, campus wired and wireless network, and various security devices.

The Network Analyst will be responsible for installing and managing Cisco telephony services, supporting and maintaining wired and wireless networking campus-wide, and overseeing network switching and routing. This role also involves administering FortiGate firewalls and other security technologies, supporting Microsoft 365 collaboration tools and Cisco Webex, and ensuring the security of all services. Additionally, you will manage service integration, deliver excellent customer support, and continuously develop skills in systems like Cisco IOS, GitHub, and JIRA.

The Network Analyst will take a leadership role in managing projects and small teams of colleagues. An ideal candidate will hold a Bachelor’s degree in a related field by the time of appointment and demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving skills, along with a proven ability to grow and learn continuously. Candidates should have experience administering and supporting networking and computing technologies, with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues involving multiple systems, networking, and services. Excellent communication skills and a commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive work and teaching environment are essential. Flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends to address critical issues and support project upgrades is also required.

Systems Administrator

Computing and Information Technology at SUNY Geneseo seeks to hire a Systems Administrator to join the Systems & Identity and Access Management group. The Systems Administrator provides support and maintains the endpoint and server infrastructure of the college. They work under the technical direction of the senior systems analyst and director for systems & identity and access management to develop scripts and integrations of the various systems of the college such as Google, Entra ID, Microsoft Graph, identity management, and others. They work at the direction of senior staff with broad technical latitude to ensure reliable and secure foundational servers and services for the college.

As a Systems Administrator, you will deploy, upgrade, and manage multiple servers, applications, and services, ensuring they meet performance, capacity, and uptime requirements. You will maintain security for supported services, provide integration between systems, and offer customer support. Additionally, you'll be responsible for enhancing your skills in technologies such as Oracle Enterprise Linux, Windows Server, Puppet, Entra ID, Powershell, Bash, Azure, Git, JIRA, and more.

The ideal candidate will possess a Bachelor’s degree in a related field by the time of appointment and demonstrate strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, as well as a proven capacity for continuous growth and learning.
