GENESEO, N.Y –– The Department of Music will proudly present the Geneseo Wind Ensemble, Clarinet Choir and Saxophone Quartet in their holiday concert on Dec. 11 at 8 p.m in Wadsworth Auditorium. The concert is free and open to the public.
Conductor and Department of Music faculty member Ernest Lascell says the group will showcase a myriad of “audience favorites” in the performances.
The Wind Ensemble program will include “American Overture” by Willcox Jenkins, “Variations on a Korean Folk Song” by John Barnes Chance, “Children`s March” by Percy Grainger, and “Twas the Night Before Christmas” by Newell H. Long with guest narrator Terry Browne, who was a member of the Department of Theatre at Geneseo for 30 years.
The Clarinet Choir will be performing “Three Dances” by Guy Woolfenden and the Saxophone Quartet will be performing “First Things First” by Lennie Niehaus and “Paranoid Saxophrenia” by Denis DeBlasio.
“It should be a very enjoyable program for all,” said Lascell.
