Temple Grandin to Give Public Talk at SUNY Geneseo

The Office of Accessibility Services welcomes autism activist and animal behavior expert Temple Grandin, PhD, to SUNY Geneseo for a public talk Friday, March 28. The talk will take place in Wadsworth Auditorium at 1 p.m. Grandin will also sign copies of her book Visual Thinking following the lecture from 2:15 to 3 p.m. in the Bailey Hall Atrium. Tickets are free but required for the talk. Obtain tickets online or at the Student Association Ticket Office in the College Union; limit of four per person.

Grandin is an internationally recognized scholar, author, speaker, and activist of autism and animal behavior. She is a professor of animal science at Colorado State University and a pioneer in improving the handling and welfare of farm animals. Grandin’s talk, "The Way I See it: A Personal Look at Autism," will discuss the issues individuals on the autism spectrum face daily and include helpful do’s and don’ts.

Copies of Visual Thinking will be for sale in the Barnes and Noble bookstore in the MacVittie College Union the week of the event and at Wadsworth Auditorium (cash sales at the event) before the lecture.
