Preparing for the Title II Rule
Coordinating Efforts
CIT and the Office of Accessibility have been working together to take proactive steps with institutional partners to ensure digital accessibility across university systems. Key initiatives in progress or already completed as of January 2025 include:
- Assessing web content using campus-wide tools such as SiteImprove automated website scanning system, Ally accessibility tool in Brightspace, etc.
- Identifying online course content in need of remediation to meet accessibility standards.
- Assessing and updating campus-wide accessibility training. Providing training to staff, faculty and students on web accessibility and how to create accessible digital content.
- Partnering with college leadership to drive efforts across the campus community.
- Conducting manual testing and assessing VPATs to ensure procurement of accessible software.
