Medication Information

When you meet with a Health Services provider, we are able to provide prescription medications from our in-house formulary during your visit at no additional charge. These include many medications to treat common and chronic health conditions as well as the Emergency Contraceptive Pill (ECP; see below).

Health Services is not a dispensing pharmacy, which means we are not able to fill prescriptions from other providers. Information on local pharmacies is available below.

Emergency Contraception (ECP)

The Emergency Contraceptive Pill (ECP) is available from Health Services. It is also available without a prescription through most pharmacies. If you wish to discuss contraception options, you can make an appointment with Health Services (via My Health) or with the Center for Sexual Health and Wellness of Livingston County at 585-243-7540 or 800-243-9240.

Immunizations

In addition to required vaccinations, Health Services strongly encourages students to receive immunizations for seasonal influenza, bacterial meningitis, and hepatitis B. When combined with practicing basic health behaviors such as getting sufficient sleep, eating well, not drinking large amounts of alcohol, and avoiding sharing eating/drinking utensils, immunizations can significantly reduce students’ risk of contracting these serious and potentially fatal diseases. Students who have not received these immunizations from their primary care doctors at home can get these vaccinations at Health Services.

Vaccination for meningitis must be pre-ordered and pre-paid. Other vaccinations are available via Health Services (may require an additional fee).

PrEP

PrEP (Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis) is a medication program designed to prevent HIV infection. This is a service provided by Trillium Health. View their website or read more on the SUNY Geneseo LGBTQ pages.

Wegmans Prescription Delivery Services

Wegmans in Geneseo delivers prescriptions to the main Lauderdale Health Center building during our business hours. To initiate this service, you must first complete a form and turn it into Wegmans or Lauderdale. Note that these forms will authorize Wegmans to keep your credit card on file. For Fall 2024, deliveries are on Tuesdays and Fridays, usually between 3 and 3:30 p.m.

Additional Information:

• You must opt out of automatic refills; instead, inform Wegmans to deliver to Lauderdale when you call for a refill.
• You may get a text from Wegmans that alerts you that your prescription is ready, but that does not mean it has arrived in Lauderdale.
• You must sign up each semester.
