Emeritus Chemistry Professor Dr. David Johnson passed away on Oct. 1, 2021. Dr. Johnson was an organic chemist, who joined the Chemistry Department at Geneseo in 1991. He will be remembered for the positive impact he had on the students he mentored in organic chemistry, in both the classroom and research laboratory. Dr. Johnson's research focused on understanding the molecular basis of NADPH oxidase inhibition by apocynin, which informed new strategies for treatments of diseases such as atherosclerosis, diabetic retinopathy and asthma. Dr. Johnson was the epitome of a teach-scholar and will be deeply missed on personal and professional levels.
