Finance & Administration Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging Highlights
A hallmark of the values at Geneseo is our commitment to diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI). The Division of Finance and Administration seeks to consistently embrace these values and incorporate them into the way we serve the campus community and beyond everyday.
To further advance our commitment, Julie Buehler, Vice President for Finance and Administration convened the Finance and Administration (FA) Diversity Group to include representation across the division. Current members include, Robert Ames, Assistant Vice President for Facilities & Planning, Carey Chappius, Business/Systems Analyst, Mathew Felthousen, Executive Director of Campus Auxiliary Services, Joelle Dupont, Human Resources Director of Campus Auxiliary Services and Julie Briggs, Associate Vice President for Human Resources.
The team reviewed current practices and how we can better infuse our commitment to DEIB into our culture and practices. Unless otherwise noted all of these are in place. Staff across the division will be working on many of these items throughout the upcoming academic year. Some examples are highlighted here, many of which represent current practices that are successful in their infusion of DEIB.
Advancing Cultural Competency Certificate (ACCC)
The Advancing Cultural Competency Certificate (ACCC) is designed to help staff, faculty, and administrators contribute meaningfully to our campus climate where all of our members thrive. This certificate is merely one piece of our ongoing efforts to enhance diversity and inclusion at Geneseo. It builds on our twenty-year history of the President’s Commission on Diversity and Community as well as ongoing research and programmatic efforts of faculty, staff, committees, task forces, and departments supporting diversity. It is made available to all employees including classified staff, Campus Auxiliary Services employees, faculty, professional staff and administrators, as everyone influences our campus climate.
