  • Under Hollow Hills (Elle Owls) 8:00pm-midnight
There is a traveling circus under the Hollow Hills.
It travels by moonlight, small wagons creaking in the night silence. It travels lost roads, where fireflies and whisps hover to watch it pass, where goblins peer down from their treebranch perches, and owls. It travels the night world and the day world, fairyland and the living earth, and places otherwise, and no border can keep it. It has mysteries to pose, drama to perform, it has music, juggling, acts of death-defying peril, pratfall comedy. It has dangerous secrets to tell.
You are its performers, its ringmaster, its clowns, its sideshow, its stars. You're its crew, rigging the tents, mending the costumes, planning the show, selling t-shirts and popcorn. You're fairy kind and human kind. You're the circus, and the circus is you.
You travel through fairyland and the mortal world, performing as you choose. Wherever you perform, you change: you change the seasons, you change the fortunes of those you perform for, you change their hearts. You change yourselves. This is the game: we change.
Under Hollow Hills is a tabletop roleplaying game. It's Powered by the Apocalypse, which in this case means that it's got playbooks for the players, a system of moves based on rolling and summing two dice, a GM, and a "play to find out" approach to prep and plotting. It's good for small groups and large groups, people who've never played a roleplaying game before and people who've played a hundred.

  • Visigoths vs. Mall Goths / PbtA-Like (Nicholas Schapira) 8:00pm-midnight
Concept: Visigoths vs. Mall Goths is a tabletop roleplaying game and dating sim about the conflicts and romances among the warriors who sacked ancient Rome and 20th century spooky teens, set in a suburban Los Angeles shopping mall during 1996. There are a lot of bisexuals. Imagine a surreal combo of The Craft, Empire Records, Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure, and Clueless. This is a narrative story-game based loosely on Powered by the Apocalypse.
Aim: Both address a challenge for the day as you go through the mall as well as meet whatever personal dating goals you have in mind.
Tone: Silly, tongue-in-cheek hijinks. The players have fun, but the characters take themselves very seriously (in a way that only teenagers take themselves seriously).
Subject matter: Dating, kissing, consensual flirtation, queerness, anachronistic references to both the 90s and the 400s. Safety tools: x-card, lines/veils, script changes, open door policy. For more information: https://arassivad.com/
NOTE: The game requires a minimum of 4 players.

  • Fear the Dark / 5th Edition D&D (Polerno the Loud) 10:00pm-2:00am
The children, it was the children. Their children had been going missing for years. That's why I was there. Of course some of the others were there for other reasons, gold, magic, fame, but in the end it didn't matter why we were there. In the end there was only the fear. The fear of the dark. He was there in the dark. It was always about the children, but I'm getting ahead of myself. The cave was dark and our quest noble, so we down we ventured. There was much to fear at the bottom of the cave, but in the end we prevailed! Sort of...

  • The Scarab of Death / D&D 5e (Paige) 2:00pm-6:00pm
    (Content Warning: Slight Gore)
The scarab of death is aptly named, exotic, and most certainly shouldn't be out in the wild. Last known to have been kept in a vault, a young noble stole the item from the owner's bazaar in Waterdeep, and promptly died a block away. You just so happened to be in the city, whether for business, pleasure, or you just live there. And you were also unfortunate enough to witness the young man die. The rightful owner is panicked; if the dead man's father finds out about this, he's as good as dead himself. He'll give you whatever you want if you just find out how the scarab got away!
Use D&D Beyond for a character sheet if you can. You're welcome to use standard array or point-buy, but your total should be 75 or more if you roll. No race or class restrictions. You will be level 10.

The Japanese Archipelago sits on the west side of the Pacific Ocean. It is part of the destructive ring of fire, with active volcanos, tsunamis, and typhoons. Yet, it has endured all of these to thrive. Now it is your turn to recreate their enduring civilization, Catan style. Players will play on an Uber sized map via zoom. • Superfight! / Steam (Juliana Thompson)

The game Superfight lets you create ridiculous battles and debate who will win! Some cards feature people, creatures, etc, and other cards feature superpowers or weapons that go with them! Once each person submits a combination, there can be a debate and a vote among the other players as to who wins the fight! The rules will be explained in more specific terms at the event. If people are up for it at the end, we can have a freestyle time where we can debate about characters who aren't listed on cards.

  • Casket Land / PbtA (Elle Owls) 4:00pm-8:00pm
Oh, first the sun beat down and took our water, the wind came and turned our soil to dust, then darkness fell and the monsters crawled up from the depths. All that was left to do was salt the earth, and lo, we did. Nothing lives here now - it is nothing but Casket Land.
    - The journal of Loam, wrapped Madman of the Northern Hill.
Casket Land centers around a dying and drought ridden town cut off by hills, canyons, mines, monsters, and rows of caskets unearthed by the brutal winds as far as the eye can see. You are not a valiant hero - you are the kind of human who could eke survival out of the end times.

  • Puzzle Board Chess (Ed Bond) 4:00pm-6:00pm
MetaDreams LLC has an offer for the participants of 'Running GAGG: The Virtual Contagion.' We will send a copy of our new game 'Puzzle Board Chess' to two players if they are able and willing to join us in the session to play a game for the convention.
In this game, the chess board has been broken up into tiles, so that the shape of the game board changes every time you play. This makes the classic chess strategy much more dynamic as pieces must negotiate around gaps and chasms to achieve checkmate. All the classic chess pieces are used in this version EXCEPT there are no pawns. They don't work on this kind of board.

  • Pasion de las Pasiones / PbtA (Nicolas Schapira) 8:00pm-midnight
Concept: A game of passion, drama, secrets, delights, and heated conflict where you will play out the stories of the greatest telenovela ever to air—a telenovela called, of course, Pasión de las Pasiones. You’ll play through the setting La Rosa Querida (via the Kickstarter Quickstart), the drama in the most glorious hotel ever seen. Think American soap opera and add in your average CW show with the drama volume at 11, and then maybe it's close to what you will encounter here. No background on telenovelas required. It is a story game using the Powered by the Apocalypse system.
    Two notes on telenovelas:
    1) The default character is LatinX.
    2) The genre and its tropes, by default, are gendered and heteronormative. However, this is a game of drama, twists, and turns where these gender and heteronormative tropes can be turned on their heads. In other words, the game can be as queer as the players want and/or as the fiction demands. Except the LatinX part. That part stays.
Aim: You are actors on the show, playing your parts, with the ability and freedom regarding how your characters are framed and in what webs of deceit and/or love they fall into.
Tone: Dramatic, over-the-top melodrama. If done right, you’ll be whooping, hooting, and hollering throughout the session.
Subject matter: Dramatic tension between players, including deceit, lying, indirect and direct conflict. Possible love interests, including dramatically telling someone you think is cute that you love them in the most over the top way. High probability of social conflict. Safety tools: x-card, lines/veils, script changes, open door policy. For more information: https://arassivad.com/

  • I was a teenage suburbanite! / Fiasco 2nd edition (Polerno the Loud) 10:00pm-2:00am

Fiasco is back! With a new card based edition! I am suggesting we play the Tales of Suburbia, but we also have Dragonslayers and Poppleton Mall! For those poor souls who never played the original, Fiasco is a mostly freeform RPG where the game only establishes the basics and the rest of the game is up to the players. Events in the game are handled by scenes and completely up to the players. Things generally get pretty nuts. "It's like playing a Coen Brothers movie, in the time to takes to watch one."

  • Dream Apart / Belonging Outside Belonging (Nicolas Schapira) 12:00pm-4:00pm
Concept: There are demons and wedding jesters; betrothals and pogroms; mystical ascensions and accusations of murder; rabbi’s daughters running away to be actresses or bandits or boy soldiers; the sounds of the shofar ringing through cramped and muddy streets, of cannon fire, of the wolf’s footfalls in the snowy pine forest; asking “What do you do next?”
You play a Jew of the shtetl, a little mostly-Jewish market town in the Eastern European countryside. In the cities, the industrial revolution has begun. Prussia, Russia and the Hapsburgs have devoured the small countries between them. Surrounded by an often hostile Christendom, by wild forests in which anything might creep, and by the invisible creatures of the Unseen World — angels, demons, ghosts, and dybbuks — the Jews of the shtetl try to outwit or outlast those who would do us harm. We feud and reconcile, bargain and gossip, celebrate and mourn, and snatch a little joy and love while we can. Life in the shtetl is sweet as raisin pastries and bitter as horseradish: may it be the Divine Will that it endures another season…
The system is Belonging Outside Belonging, a narrative diceless and GM-Less game.
Aim: A co-created fiction between players that is filled with character strife, community building, and with fantastical elements thrown in. Players will be playing both characters they’ve created and various setting elements, based on whomever is in the spotlight. Although Judaism is the background of the game, the concepts of marginalization, community, and faith are universal. No knowledge of Judaism is required.
    Tone: Mature and serious.
Subject Matter: Include themes of violence, war, oppression, and anti-Semitism. Discussions of community and one’s place in a community are central to the game. Safety tools: x-card, lines/veils, script changes, open door policy. For more information: https://arassivad.com/

  • MetaCheckers: Soccer (Ed Bond) 2:00pm-4:00pm
MetaDreams LLC has an offer for the participants of 'Running GAGG: The Virtual Contagion.' We will send a copy of 'MetaCheckers: Soccer' to two players if they are able and willing to join us in the session to play a game for the convention. This game uses the mechanics of MetaCheckers -- moving checkers as chess pieces -- to play soccer. But instead of capturing the king checker, the king checker is now the goalie. The first player to get the checker with possession of the ball into the goal wins.

  • We have the DANCING PLAGUE! / Savage Worlds Adventure Edition (Polerno the Loud) 2:00pm-6:00pm

The year is 1518, Alsace. (A.D.)* Yes, though that is an unnecessary addition since nothing much was happening in France in 1518 B.C. (/grumbling, well it coulda been, who's ever heard the dancing plague anyway, ye daftie). Ahem, You and your stalwart band of friends/enemies/fellow (semi)competent(maybe) survivors have fled the contagious grip the Dancing Plague. You and the rest you could save from your village have run far, and come to the only place around which might offer some safety, a (rundown) castle. (They'll never make their money back on the place.) Fort up and defend, because if you catch it you'll dance till you're dead.... (Yeah, the fact that it's dancing means you're not really gonna pull off that drama. If ya wasn't such a pillock you'd have realized that by now.) Hush you.

*The parts in parenthesis are meant to be read in a different voice.
