GENESEO, N.Y. – A team of students from the Geneseo chapter of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) recently won the statewide SHRM Student Case Competition.
The competition was sponsored by the Genesee Valley Chapter of SHRM in Rochester, N.Y.
On the team are Alex Andreoli from Fairport, N.Y.; Julie Holmes from Avon, N.Y.; Alex Majka from Jamesville, N.Y.; and Kitrick McCoy from Albany, N.Y.
“Our team members deserve extra kudos because they had only a week to solve the case, submit a written response and make a formal presentation, followed by a second presentation done by the two finalist teams,” said Avan Jassawalla, professor of management in the School of Business. “It’s a stressful process but they excelled and won.”
SHRM is the world’s largest human resources professional society, representing some 285,000 members in more than 165 countries.
