The All-Alumni Block Party on Center Street has become a favorite event among SUNY Geneseo alumni returning for Reunion (photo from last year). Some 700 alumni and friends are expected in town this weekend for a wide variety of reunion festivities.
GENESEO, N.Y. – Some 700 alumni and friends will be returning to the SUNY Geneseo campus June 1-2 for Reunion 2018. The annual event will highlight class years ending in three and eight, affinity anniversaries, and a celebration of the 51-year career of Tom Matthews, associate dean of leadership and service.
“Enthusiasm is building for this year’s reunion, which is packed with activities for alumni of all ages,” said Ronna Gillam, director of alumni relations. “We know many are attending reunion to honor the beloved Tom Matthews as we celebrate his amazing 51 years at Geneseo. He has touched the lives of most all of our alumni in one way or another and the celebration of his career will be truly special.”
In addition to the Tom Matthews’ recognition, the schedule includes the 55th anniversary celebration of the Sigma Tau Psi fraternity and WGSU radio. The class of 1968 will observe its 50th reunion. A Special Decade Celebration of the '90s will include the All-Alumni Block Party from 2 p.m. – 5 p.m. June 2 on Center St. just off of Main St. The party will feature 90s music and 90s sitcoms playing in the Riviera Theater.
