Greetings, I'm Professor Nwabara, a Black Studies scholar teaching in English at Geneseo. What that means is I bring interdisciplinary methods together (e.g. history, sociology, media, film, political science, literature) to tell the story of diverse African and Black people globally. I focus on Nigerian migrants around the world, thinking about how they maintain or transform their identity over time, environment (physical, political), and through their heritage and traditions. I believe that by learning about others' philosophies and beliefs in life and living, loving, fighting, surviving, and thriving, we learn more about ourselves and grow on our journey through life
