Propane Safety

Propane is a widely distributed and generally safe energy source that many people use regularly for commercial or home purposes.  Despite a common familiarity with propane, however, the National Fire Protection Association reports 1,170 home fires annually due to propane misuse.  Much of this likely could have been avoided where proper safety steps had been taken, such as inspecting the propane cylinder for leaks before use.  Take a look at the “Important Propane Safety Information” pamphlet images for a quick guide on proper propane safety.

Remember to always store your propane cylinder upright, and never on its side.
