How to Post Department News
Every Geneseo web editor can create department news. Here’s how.
- Log in to the Geneseo website.
- Go to "workbench" at the top of the page and click "create content."
- Click the dropdown box to the right of the site and select "dept news."
- Create a headline.
- Begin typing your department or office name in the "department" field. It will prefill.
- Upload an image. If you don’t have one, search the media library by keyword or browse the selection in the "stock photos" directory of the media library.
- If the post is about a Geneseo faculty member, put their name in the "faculty" field.
- Fill in the rest of the content and click "Save."
- Your news will appear on the sitewide department news page and your individual department news section. If you do not yet have a department news section set up on your website, email helpdesk@geneseo.edu to request one.

If you would like to add a news page to your department website to display your department news, please put in a request with CIT.
