Individualized Studies Major: Design Your Own Major
Through the individualized studies major (ISM), students have the incredible opportunity to design their own major, creating a Bachelor's degree ( B.A. or B.S.) that is ideally suited to their educational goals. For more information, check out the individualized studies major proposal process and see examples of ISMs.
Individualized studies majors must:
- Include courses from two or more disciplines (prefixes) to create an interdisciplinary major that doesn't already exist.
- Include an integrative and applied learning capstone experience.
- Be developed in collaboration with the Center for Integrative Learning and the provost's office.
For more information, contact the interim Individualized Studies Major Coordinator, Dr. Melanie Medeiros at medeiros@geneseo.edu.
