Optometry 3+4
Want to shorten your path to becoming a doctor?
The 3+4 Optometry Partnership Program with SUNY College of Optometry allows students to earn an OD degree in seven years, rather than the typical eight. After three years of study as a biology major at Geneseo, students transfer to SUNY Optometry for the four years. After one year at SUNY Optometry, Geneseo awards a BS in biology. The OD is earned after four years at SUNY Optometry. This 3+4 Partnership Program is a rigorous course of study. You apply to SUNY College of Optometry as a high school senior or as a SUNY Geneseo rising sophomore.
Doctors of Optometry diagnose, manage, and treat conditions and diseases of the human eye and visual system. They conduct examinations, diagnose problems or impairments, prescribe corrective lenses, and provide treatment.
