Neuroscience
Why study neuroscience at Geneseo?
The neuroscience major is an interdisciplinary program designed to prepare students for advanced studies in brain and cognitive sciences in a graduate school, medical school, or related health program, or for a career in the biomedical industry. The coursework intersects the biology, chemistry, and psychology programs and offers a diverse array of faculty interests and expertise for students to learn from. Neuroscience students will also choose one or more faculty members with whom to do research.
The opportunities for students to engage in high-quality research is a leading reason why students choose neuroscience at Geneseo. Students also volunteer time within the community to share their love of neuroscience using interactive brain-based activities. These high-impact experiences set Geneseo neuroscience students apart from their peers and contribute to the high success rate of placements in desired future programs.
