Relay for
Life at SUNY Geneseo April 14-15
WHO: More than 600 Geneseo students and alumni, divided into approximately 80
teams of eight to 15 people, will participate in Relay for Life, at the State
University of New York at Geneseo.
WHAT: This will be the second year the fund-raising event Relay for Life will
be held at SUNY Geneseo. Teams comprising Geneseo students and alumni will walk
around the track of Kuhl Gymnasium throughout the night and into the morning
hours. The event will feature a talk by a Geneseo student who has survived
cancer, as well as live entertainment by several bands. To date, more than
$33,000 has been raised, with a goal of reaching $70,000 by the end of the
event.
WHEN: From 7 p.m. Saturday, April 14, to 7 a.m. Sunday, April 15. Interested
members of the college and local communities can register throughout the
night.
WHERE: Kuhl Gymnasium in the Merritt Athletic Center at SUNY Geneseo.
WHY: The overnight relay celebrates cancer survivorship and raises money for
research and programs of the American Cancer Society.
