Three CAS employees at SUNY Geneseo recognized for
outstanding service
GENESEO, N.Y. — Three employees of Campus Auxiliary
Services (CAS) at the State University of New York at Geneseo recently earned
top awards in the National Association of College & University Food
Services' 2005 Loyal E. Horton Dining Awards Contest.
The CAS employees were recognized for their outstanding
ideas in menus, presentations, marketing and innovations that resulted in an
increase in sales.
Winning these honors are Joanna Anne, area operations coordinator of Red Jacket Dining
Center, who won a silver award in the Residence Hall Multiple Concept/Outlet
category for her entry which included menu variety, nutritional
awareness/analysis, special events and monotony breakers, as well as marketing,
presentation and customer satisfaction feedback.
Lisa Conway, area
operations coordinator of Letchworth Dining Center, won a bronze award in the
Residence Hall Theme Dinner category for her entry "Circus Circus," which
included menu design and creativity, marketing, presentation and customer
participation.
Becky Stewart,
assistant manager of Red Jacket Dining Center, was awarded a bronze award in
the Residence Hall Theme Dinner category for her entry "Casino Night."
There were a total of 182 entries in all categories and
classifications.
"I am very excited to see these
managers get national recognition for all their hard work and effort,"
said Virginia Geer-Mentry, director of dining
services at Geneseo. "The special events have made a real difference in
the students' attitude towards dining at Geneseo."
Campus Auxiliary Services, a campus based, not-for-profit
corporation at SUNY Geneseo since 1952, operates the dining centers and other
auxiliary services at the college.
