GENESEO, N.Y. -- Kim Faber, a 1988 graduate of SUNY Geneseo and a resident of Honeoye Falls, has joined the SUNY Geneseo Division of College Advancement as Major Gifts Officer.

Faber began her career on Capitol Hill working in the House of Representatives as a lobbyist auditor in the Office of the Clerk, and worked directly with members of Congress, lawyers, lobbyists and the public on various aspects of The Federal Lobbyist Act. She relocated to Rochester in 1991 to begin a career in business management and sales, working primarily in the appraisal and financing of private and commercial real estate. Between 1991 and 2001, she worked as a senior account executive at Strategic Mortgage Services (formerly TRW), and as general manager and senior business development officer at Realty Reports, Inc., both of Rochester.

She accepted a position at SUNY Brockport in 2001, where she worked in major gift fund development. There, her development and implementation of fund-raising strategies resulted in a 285 percent increase in corporate gifts to the college.

Faber is pleased to return to Geneseo. "I genuinely love SUNY Geneseo, and, as an alumna, I know first hand about many of the wonderful assets the College brings to bear," she said. "I am extremely fortunate to be part of such an esteemed organization."

Faber said that as a major gifts officer, she is looking forward to reconnecting with alumni and community leaders to find out more about how Geneseo had an impact on their lives. "I am forever grateful to Geneseo," Faber said, "because it was a wonderful springboard for me both personally and professionally. I know the College has had the same effect on other alumni, as well."
