Personal attorney for Bill and Hillary Clinton to deliver annual Phi Beta Kappa lecture Monday, Feb. 5, at SUNY Geneseo

WHO: David E. Kendall, personal attorney for Bill and Hillary Clinton, will be available to speak individually with members of the media before he delivers the annual Phi Beta Kappa lecture at the State University of New York at Geneseo.

WHEN:

Members of the media may speak with Kendall from 3:30-4 p.m. Monday, Feb. 5. (The lecture will be held at 4:30 p.m.)

WHERE: 203 Newton Hall on the SUNY Geneseo campus.

Kendall began representing the Clintons in 1993, in what was ostensibly a small savings and loan matter involving Whitewater Development Company, Inc. He went on to represent the Clintons in a variety of matters, including the 1998-99 impeachment proceedings. Kendall continues to represent the Clintons in civil litigation.

Kendall's lecture, "The Great War Today," is free and open to the public. Kendall will talk about World War I, as refracted through its literature and history—the changing and evolving attempts to assess its facts and causes. He will explore the relationship, if any, between the war's literature and history and will talk about the ramifications and influences of the Great War.

Given the recent decision by U.S. Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-N.Y., to run for U.S. president, any questions regarding the Clintons will be answered in a manner deemed appropriate by Mr. Kendall consistent with policies regarding attorney-client privilege.
