Historically Significant Documents to be Donated to SUNY Geneseo Today;
Paperwork From Offices of Presidents Lincoln, Jackson, Van Buren Reveals Episodes of Country's Westward Expansion
President Christopher C. Dahl to formally accept donation of documents at 2 p.m. press conference today
WHAT: Original land transfer documents from the 1800's, along with artifacts documenting local history, will be donated to the State University of New York at Geneseo. This is the first grouping of a series of papers to be donated to the college for preservation and research purposes.
At a 2 p.m. Press Conference TODAY, Oct. 27, 2005
WHERE: 1211 River Road, Caledonia (near corner of Rt. 5, just west of Avon)
WHO: President Dahl and property owner Jim Jerris will speak to news media. Jerris is donating these items to the college as part of the liquidation of his personal effects, which include numerous antiques, books, and other items of historical interest.
