THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 30:
LOCKHART GALLERY: The Lockhart Gallery, located in the McClellan House,
26 Main St., Geneseo, presents "The Art of Science." This
exhibition of contemporary artists reveals the art (sometimes in its aesthetic
beauty, sometimes in its awe-inspiring power) that is found in science. The
exhibit includes the work of nationally and internationally recognized local
artists: Doug Anderson and Dan
DeZarn, faculty in Geneseo's School of the
Arts, and Andrew Davidhazy and Michael Peres, faculty of photographic science
at Rochester Institute of Technology.
Also on view from the gallery's permanent collection are Jane Jeffrey's
scientific watercolor illustrations of insects. The gallery is open
noon-4 p.m. Mondays-Saturdays and noon-8 p.m. Thursdays. The exhibit runs through Thursday, Dec.
14. This exhibit is in conjunction
with the dedication of the Integrated Science Center.
LEDERER GALLERY: The School of the Arts and Bertha V.B. Lederer Gallery in Brodie Hall
present "Up 'Till Now," a Fall Senior Student Thesis Exhibition. The gallery is
open noon-4 p.m. Sundays–Wednesdays and 5-8 p.m. Thursdays-Saturdays. Opening reception is 5-7 p.m. Saturday,
Dec. 2. The exhibit runs through
Thursday, Dec. 14. The event is free
and open to the public.
ENSEMBLE: GENseng presents Kimchi and Chitlins by Elizabeth Wong. Directed by Randy Barbara Kaplan. "A serious comedy about getting along"
which looks at our prejudices and assumptions about race and ethnicity through
the experiences of Koreans and African-Americans in Flatbush, Brooklyn. Some traditional seating will be
provided, but audience members should bring blankets and pillows and be
prepared to sit on the floor. The
event will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 30, 4 p.m. Friday, Dec. 1, and 2
p.m. Saturday, Dec. 2 in the Robert Sinclair Theatre, Brodie Hall. General admission is $6. Tickets may be

FILM: "Games of Love and Chance," a 2003 film
produced in France with a running time of 123 minutes. It will be screened at 7
p.m. Thursday, Nov. 30, in 204 Newton Hall. The film is a graceful and frank
coming-of-age story about teenage love in a Muslim neighborhood on the
outskirts of Paris. When Krimo, a tough-minded but introverted 15-year-old,
falls in love with Lydia, he schemes up to be cast as Lydia's romantic opposite
in their school's staging of Marivaux's "The Game of Love and Chance," with
bittersweet results. Winner of four Cˇsar Awards. In French with English
subtitles. Discussant: Anne Lutkus (Department of
Modern Languages and Cultures, University of Rochester).
