THURSDAY, OCTOBER
11:
MILNE LIBRARY: The Corporate and Business Partners of SUNY Geneseo are sponsoring the Heavens
Above exhibit, a series of
transparencies and interactive media from deep space captured by the Hubble
Space Telescope while orbiting the earth over the past 16 years. The exhibit will be on display from
August 27 to December 17. For more

LOCKHART GALLERY: The Lockhart Gallery, located in the McClellan House, 26 Main St.,
Geneseo, presents the Richard Beale Exhibit. The exhibit runs through Friday,
October 12. The gallery is open

LECTURE: The Roemer Lecture on International Affairs will be given by Nicolas Van
De Walle, Director of the Mario Einaudi Center for International Studies, John
S. Knight Professor of International Studies in the Dept. of Government,
Associate Dean for International Studies in the College of Arts and Sciences at
Cornell University, and an award-winning scholar on the African continent. Van De Walle's topic is "Towards an
African Renaissance? Prospects for a Troubled Continent." The lecture takes place from 4-5 p.m.
in the MacVitte College Union Ballroom and is free and open to the public.
FRIDAY, OCTOBER 12:
LECTURE: The MacVittie Lecture, "Who Cares About the Trinity?" will be given by
William Placher, Professor of Philosophy and Religion, and LaFollette
Distinguished Professor in the Humanities at Wabash College. The lecture takes
place at 7:30 p.m. in the MacVitte College Union Ballroom and is free and open
to the public.

LECTURE: The President of Kwangwoon University of South Korea will deliver the
School of Business Fall Lecture.
In addition to his academic leadership, President Sang Chul Lee has
worked for NASA, served as a minister in the Korean government, and founded
Korean TeleCom (similar to AT&T).
His lecture, at 7 p.m. in 204 Newton Hall, will be wide-ranging and of
interest to the entire community.
