SUNY Geneseo Calendar of Events for March 22-28

THURSDAY, MARCH 22:

LOCKHART GALLERY:  The Lockhart Gallery, located in the McClellan House, 26 Main St., Geneseo, presents "Girl Power: The Supremes as Cultural Icons."  Relive the '60s celebrating one of the most important and influential of American music groups, The Supremes.  This collection, amassed by SUNY Geneseo alum Tom Ingrassia '74 includes original photographs, records, record covers, films, trade ads, newspaper and magazine clippings and promotional material and follows The Supremes through their first attempts to "make it" as teen-agers to worldwide fame in just a few years. The gallery is open from noon-4 p.m. Mondays-Saturdays and noon-8 p.m. Thursdays. The exhibit runs through Friday, April 13, and is free and open to the public. DANCE CONCERT:  The School of the Arts and Orchesis present Beyond The Studio Mirror at 8 p.m. Thursday, March 22, through Saturday, March 24, in Alice Austin Theatre in Brodie Hall. General admission is $5 and students $4. Tickets may be purchased at bbo.geneseo.edu or the Brodie Box Office (585-245-5833).

GUEST SPEAKER:  The Asian/Asian American Studies and Programming presents Professor Emil Homerain of the University of Rochester on Islam at 12:45 p.m. Thursday, March 22, in 213 Milne Library.

FESTIVAL:  The School of the Arts presents "365 Days 365 Plays Festival" at 4 p.m. Friday, March 23, in Robert Sinclair Theatre in Brodie Hall.  The festival is free and open to the public.

SATURDAY, MARCH 24:

SPORTS:  Women's lacrosse vs. Utica at 1 p.m. on Saratoga Field.  Free and open to the public.

PIANO SERIES:  Friends of Music present Amy Stanley, pianist, at 3 p.m. in Wadsworth Auditorium. General admission is $8; members, seniors and students $5.  Tickets may be purchased at the door.
