Professor of Dance, Jonette Lancos, will present two new works: "Energy Fusion," a free-spirited contemporary dance set to music performed by Yo-Yo Ma and the Silk Road Ensemble and "Meditation," a ballet performed to the music of Massenet.  Ruben T. Ornelas, Assistant Professor of Dance, will present "Poorhouse," a solo based on the history of the Livingston County Poorhouse.  Guest artist Thomas Warfield, Director of Dance at the National Technical Institute of the Deaf, Rochester Institute of Technology, will contribute "Gather Here," a reflective piece performed to the music of Andy Monroe.

The concert will be at 8 p.m., December 6, 7 and 8 and at 2 p.m., December 9 in the Alice Austin Theatre, Brodie Hall.  Tickets are available by calling the Brodie box office at (585) 245-5833 or at hppt://bbo.geneseo.edu.  Tickets are for reserved seating and are $6.

Featured student works include: Meaghan Fitzgerald's, "Teardrops of the Soul," a contemporary ballet piece on surmounting tragedy,  Kaleigh Schwarz's "Hereafter" characterizing the emotional process as one approaches death, and  Megan Marnell's "Yearning to Belong" a dance exploring relationships.  Dance composition students will present "Heavens Above," choreography inspired by photographs of the universe from the Hubble space telescope.

Pivotal Moments is directed by Ruben Ornelas with Associate Director Jonette Lancos and the support of Student Assistant Directors Whitney Forbes and Caitlyn Redmond.  The hard-working production staff includes Johnnie Ferrell, Technical Director and Lighting Designer; Crystal Ferrell, Costume Designer; and Andrew Tao Li, Leora Bernstein, and Allison Unger, Stage Managers.
