SUNY Geneseo Calendar of Events
for April 3 - 9

THURSDAY, APRIL 3:
LEDERER GALLERY: The School of the Arts and Bertha V.B. Lederer
Gallery in Brodie Hall present, "A Senior Student Thesis Exhibition." SUNY
Geneseo School of the Arts graduating studio majors present final bodies of
work representing the sum and conceptual application of the skills and
techniques learned during their years of undergraduate study at SUNY Geneseo.
The exhibit runs through Monday, April 7.
The gallery is open from noon-4 p.m. Mondays–Thursdays and noon-6
p.m. Fridays-Saturdays. Multiple venues in the Bridge and Kinetic Galleries.
The event is free and open to the public.
CLUB REVUE: The School of the Arts will present the Musical Theatre Club Revue at 8
p.m. Thursday, April 3 through Saturday, April 5, in the Alice Austin Theatre
in Brodie Hall. The revue is free
and open to the public.
LECTURE: Bruce Jacobs, the author of Race
Manners for the 21st Century, will deliver the President's Diversity Lecture at 4 p.m.,
Thursday, April 3, in Newton 214. His topic is "Getting Real About Race."
A graduate of Harvard, Mr. Jacobs urges critical thinking about media messages
and "encourages people of good will to challenge racism and to work for the
kinds of social and economic fairness that benefit all." Copies of
Race Manners will
be available for purchase at the lecture, and Mr. Jacobs has offered to sign

CIRCUS ENTERTAINMENT: The SUNY Geneseo Limelight & Accents Series will
presentForms in Motion at 8 p.m. in Wadsworth Auditorium. Forms in Motion
provides European-stylecircus entertainment with a theatrical flair that will
spellbind audiences of all ages. The performers have toured with circuses
across the country and they choreograph and costume each act with polished
professionalism while putting their grace and skill to test with every show they
perform. Forms in Motion is a perfect example of how ordinary people can do
extraordinary things. Tickets are $5 for students, $7 for 12 and under, $12 for
faculty/staff/alumni, and $15 for the general public. To purchase tickets, call the Student Association Ticket

Accents Series is funded by mandatory Student Association fees and coordinated
by the college's Activities Commission.

LOCKHART GALLERY: The Lockhart Gallery, located in the McClellan House,
26 Main St., Geneseo, presents Light and Form: A Visual Legacy. New work by
Carl Shanahan and new photographs by Sean Shanahan. An opening reception will
be held from 5-7 p.m., Saturday, April 12. The exhibit runs through Saturday,
May 10 and is free and open to the public. Gallery hours are noon-4 p.m.
Mondays-Thursdays and noon-6 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays.
