CALENDAR OF EVENTS FOR FEB. 10-16

THURSDAY, FEB. 10:

FILM: The Alan Lutkus International Film Series presents the film "Skammen (Shame)." Focusing on an ordinary rural couple caught in the crossfire, master filmmaker Ingmar Bergman offers a focused and personal portrait of the horrors of war. Showing how the chaos of battle can make even the most civilized individuals act in unethical and shameful ways, this award-winning motion picture remains one of its director’s least known, yet most relevant, films. In Swedish, with English subtitles. Discussant: Daniel Humphrey of the English department. 7 p.m., Bailey Hall Auditorium (135). Free and open to the public.

LEDERER GALLERY EXHIBIT: The Bertha V.B. Lederer Gallery in Brodie Hall presents an exhibit by Bruce Erickson and Brian Porter. The exhibit will feature figure drawings and paintings, and narrative figure paintings. The gallery is open daily from 2-4:30 p.m. and Thursdays 12-8 p.m. Free and open to the public. The exhibit runs through Friday, Feb. 25.

OPUS GALLERY EXHIBIT: The Opus Gallery in the MacVittie College Union presents Anna Stein’s Senior Show. The gallery is open daily from 1-5 p.m. Free and open to the public. The exhibit runs through Sunday, Feb. 13.

PLAY: The School of Performing Arts and Veg. S.O.U.P. present the play "Praying for Rain" by Robert Lewis Vaughan. Directed by Kyle Camping. 8 p.m., Robert Sinclair Theatre, Brodie Hall. Tickets are $4 for the general public; $3 for faculty, staff and senior citizens; and $2 for SUNY Geneseo students. Tickets can be purchased at the Brodie Box Office (245-5833).

CONCERT: The Limelights & Accents Performing Arts Series presents The Friends of Music Orchestra with Kenneth Grant. Celebrate great American music with the Friends of Music Orchestra and featured clarinetist Kenneth Grant. Grant plays clarinet for the Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra and is an associate professor of clarinet at the Eastman School of Music. He also has played with the Columbus Symphony, Chautauqua Symphony and Buffalo Philharmonic. The Friends of Music Orchestra is composed of the top players in the Rochester and Geneseo region. 8 p.m., Wadsworth Auditorium. Tickets are $18 for the general public; $15 for faculty, staff, alumni, senior citizens and children under 12; and $5 for SUNY Geneseo students. Tickets can be purchased at the MacVittie College Union Box Office (245-5873).
