The first Korean film to be screened in U.S. cinemas, The Way Home describes the journey of a young city boy as he learns of traditional, rural Korean culture through his unexpected abandonment at the "primitive" home of his grandmother. Never becoming syrupy, the movie portrays the grandmother's patient, unconditional love and the boy's gradually growing appreciation of her devotion. The discussant will be by Communicative Disorders and Science Professor Robert Owens. 7 p.m., International Cinema Center, Guy A. Bailey Hall Auditorium (135). Free and open to the public.
