CALENDAR OF EVENTS FOR FEB. 19-25

THURSDAY, FEB. 19:

FILM: The International Film Series presents the film "Todo sobre mi madre (All about My mother)." The film is in Spanish with English subtitles. Pedro Almod ar's moving film about a mother's attempt at fulfilling her son's wishes after his premature death in a car accident. Manuela (Cecilia Roth) had never revealed to her son the identity of his father. Upon her son's death, however, Manuela leaves Madrid for Barcelona in search of her former lover, to inform him of his son's birth – and death. While in Barcelona, she meets some troubled women (played by Penelope Cruz and Antonia San Juan) who further teach her about the meaning of life and death. Proclaimed Best Foreign Language Film of 1999 by the Academy Award and several international film critics associations. The discussant will be by Foreign Languages and Literatures Teaching Assistant Carolina Marin. 7 p.m., International Cinema Center, Guy A. Bailey Hall Auditorium (135). Free and open to the public

ART EXHIBITION: The Opus Gallery presents an art exhibition featuring Heather Brosman. Gallery hours are 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. daily. Free and open to the public. Exhibit to run through Sunday Feb. 22.

MUSIC: The School of Performing Arts presents the Geneseo Wind Ensemble; conducted by James Walker; directed by Jonathan Kruger (director of the RIT Concert Band); and narrated by Dr. Joseph Fornieri. 8 p.m., Wadsworth Auditorium. Free and open to the public.
