SUNY Geneseo Calendar of Events for September
29-October 5
THURSDAY, SEPT. 29:
LEDERER GALLERY EXHIBIT: The Bertha V.B. Lederer Gallery in Brodie
Hall presents the SUNY Geneseo Faculty Exhibition. The gallery is open daily
from 2-4:30 p.m. and Thursdays 12-8 p.m. Free and open to the public. The
exhibit runs through Friday, Oct. 7.
LOCKHART GALLERY EXHIBIT: The Lockhart Gallery, located in the
McClellan House, presents the Gerard Alonzo Sculpture Exhibition. The gallery
is open daily from 11:30 a.m.-4 p.m. and Fridays 11:30 a.m.-8 p.m. Free and
open to the public. The exhibit runs through Friday, Oct 14.
PLAY: The School of
Performing Arts presents the play "The American Daughter" by Wendy Wasserstein.
8 p.m., Robert Sinclair Theater, Brodie Hall. Tickets are $7 and can be
purchased at the Brodie Box Office (245-5833).

PERFORMANCE: The
Limelight & Accents Performing Arts Series presents The Complete Works of
William Shakespeare (Abridged). In this comedic tribute to the works of William
Shakespeare, three actors take on the task of performing 37 plays and 154
sonnets in under two hours. No play is safe from this troupe, as "Othello,"
"Romeo and Juliet" and "Titus Andronicus" all get special "abridged" makeovers.
8 p.m., Wadsworth Auditorium. Tickets are $5 for SUNY Geneseo students, $12 for
faculty and staff, and $15 for the general public. Tickets can be purchased
from the MacVittie College Union Ticket Office (245-5873).

LECTURE: The Native
American Studies Program at SUNY Geneseo presents An Evening with Carter
Revard. Revard is the author of "How the Songs Come Down: New and Selected
Poems" and several other important works. Raised on the Osage Reservation in
Oklahoma, Revard taught medieval and American Indian literatures at Washington
University in St. Louis until his retirement in 1997. 7:30 p.m., Sturges
Auditorium. Free and open to the public.
