SUNY Geneseo calendar of events for March 2-8

THURSDAY, MARCH 2:

LOCKHART GALLERY EXHIBIT: The Lockhart Gallery, located in the McClellan House, presents an exhibit titled "The Legacy of Susan B." There will be a reception on Friday, March 3 from 5-7 p.m. The gallery is open daily from 11:30 a.m.-4 p.m. and Fridays 11:30 a.m.-8 p.m. Free and open to the public. The exhibit runs through Friday, March 31.

PLAY: The School of the Arts presents the play "King Lear" by William Shakespeare. 8 p.m., Alice Austin Theatre, Brodie Hall. Tickets are $7 and may be purchased at the Brodie Box Office (245-5833).

FRIDAY, MARCH 3:

COLLEGE UNION ART GALLERY EXHIBIT: The College Union Art Galley, on the second floor of the MacVittie College Union, presents a collection of student work titled "Contortion: Interpretations of the Body." There will be an opening reception at 7 p.m. The gallery is open Mondays 2-5 p.m., Tuesdays 12:30-5 p.m., Wednesdays 2-7 p.m., Thursdays 12:30-7 p.m., Fridays 2-5 p.m. and Saturdays 12-4 p.m. Free and open to the public. The exhibit runs through Friday, March 10.

PRESENTATION: Carol Faulkner, associate professor of history, and students will deliver a talk and presentation titled "Susan B. Anthony: The Individual and the Movement." 3:30 p.m., 214 Newton Hall. Following the presentation, participants are invited to a reception at 5 p.m. at the Lockhart Gallery, located in the McClellan House. Both events are free and open to the public.

CONCERT: The School of the Arts presents a Pre-St. Patrick's Day Concert. The concert will feature the Geneseo String Band and guests performing Irish and Scottish music and dance. 7:30 p.m., Wadsworth Auditorium. Admission at the door is $4 for the general public, $2 for SUNY Geneseo students and free for children 12 and under.
