Dr. Muench has been a member of the Geneseo faculty since 1992.
Dr. Susan Bandoni Muench is Professor of Biology and is an evolutionary biologist interested in host-parasite coevolution. For more than 20 years, she has studied schistosomiasis, a neglected tropical disease prevalent in Africa and Latin America. She was awarded the Spencer J. Roemer supported professorship for 2012-2015 to support her teaching and research in Ghana. Dr. Muench heads a summer study abroad program in Ghana that introduces students to public health issues through cultural and ecological excursions.
